The Air Activities Badge Courses are a full day activity which commences at 8:30am and depending on the number of visitors on the day will finish at around 3:30pm. The Badge Courses are tailored for the different scouting sections. During the day, the participants will take part in activities related to aviation with an emphasis on safety. The program includes a flight in one of the Scouts own Cessna 172 aircraft usually to Warragamba Dam and return, a trip that takes approximately 25 minutes. There is a strict COVID 19 policy in place, and you must wear a mask while flying.

I have just set up a TryBooking event for the event (see https://www.trybooking.com/BQWTH ).  The day is primarily geared towards Cubs and Scouts, but youth members from any section are welcome to attend.  Due to COVID-19 limitations on flights, we have 45 slots booked for flying.  I have confirmed with the Activities Centre we will fill these 45 slots :-).

Our very own Tim Butcher (Vennie Leader) will be there to welcome us as part of his joint appointment as an Air Activities Leader.

The cost of the event is $77.50 for Cubs who are flying, and $70 for other fliers.  There is a $50 fee for youth members who are coming but not flying.  We would like to prioritise flying members - and we can book again later if there is sufficient interest.

We have to self cater (thanks COVID) - so bring your picnic rug and a picnic!  We will bring some games and activities for the kids to do while we are waiting for our flights if there is some time (there will also be a tour and Cubs will build a model plane).

Attendance at this will make your child eligible for a Special Interest Area badge (your leaders will be able to help your Joey/Cub/Scout/Vennie understand the requirements for this).

First in best dressed, and once I have received all the bookings, I will send you the Operoo Form.  I am also running a waiting list.
